Sven Verbiest

Sven has been a Director at horsum since October 2026, following horsum’s acquisition of Smithii, the company he co-founded. Sven helps companies structure their financial processes and make smarter use of their data, with the aim of transforming finance into a true business partner within the organisation. Clients can rely on his critical perspective, clear communication and pragmatic approach to identify and address pain points within their finance organisation.

Sven holds a Master’s degree in Business Engineering from the University of Antwerp. He built his career at Deloitte, where he gained valuable experience as a Senior Consultant in Finance Transformation and Strategy & Performance. He later co-founded Smithii with Michiel Van Duppen. Over the past five years, they have supported organisations in successfully delivering advisory projects in financial and operational reporting, data analytics and digital transformation, helping them embed data-driven decision-making into the way they work.
